Well, it's the end of January and we are finally getting around to revisiting some of our very favorite winter weddings!

If you've read any of my past posts, you may already be aware of the soft spot in my heart for December weddings. There is just something absolutely magical about saying 'I Do' while the lights twinkle behind you and the snow starts to fall.

Beautiful guestbook display!

Kendall and Michael were married on December 31 in Birmingham, Michigan and they had every perfect aspect of a winter wedding represented: lights, snow, a roaring fire, and an intimate group of friends and family.

Our trio started by performing for their ceremony. The couple had some great music choices from What a Wonderful World, to Unforgettable before Kendall walked down the aisle to Etta James At Last. They wrote their own vows, and had their guests in tears of laughter with their past memories and promises to each other. Look: we perform for a lot of ceremonies, and we hear a lot of vows. These ones were up there in the absolute top!

After the ceremony, the trio moved over a few feet and performed contemporary and popular tunes while the newlyweds and their guests mingled and ate dinner. The party later moved on to a close friends' house, where Kendall, Michael, and their friends and family rang in the New Year together!

The Birmingham Country Club was a wonderful venue for this intimate family wedding. We played by the crackling fire most of the evening, and had a wonderful time revisiting some of our favorite music by The Beatles, David Bowie, Ed Sheeran, and more! Sometimes, in a smaller more private venue, it can be really nice to pare down from a full string quartet and use the trio.

The staff was wonderful to work with at the Club, and Lindsay Wingett from Parties and Poses did an incredible job capturing every moment! Congratulations Kendall and Michael;it was a privilege to be a part of your wedding!

until next time!
