The Detroit Institute of Arts has one of the largest and most significant art collections in the United States. It contains over a hundred galleries, absolutely astounding architecture, and if you are lucky enough, can be the backdrop to an incredible and perfect wedding experience!
We were so lucky to perform for Menna and Kyle back at the end of September. They were married in the gorgeous Riviera Court which is home to Diego Riviera’s astounding Detroit Industry murals. Just an incredibly grandiose and picturesque location for a ceremony!
Menna and Kyle wanted a cello duet—which is one of my personal favorite ensembles that White Pines Entertainment offers! The cello duet is very similar to the more widely known violin and cello duet in that they play all the same repertoire, but the sound is a bit richer, more mellow, and they can get quite a bit louder!
Menna walked down the aisle to Elvis “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”. If you’ve never heard two cellos playing this song, take a listen here!

I won’t lie, I’m also partial to cello duets because my husband and I can play them together! We really love working and playing together and it is such a thrill to be able to perform for weddings around Michigan with each other!
We met playing in the cello section of the opera Eugene Onegin while we were both attending the University of Michigan. This was ten years ago now, and whether we are sitting side by side in symphony or playing Ray La Montagne “You Are the Best Thing” (Menna and Kyle’s recessional choice!!) we still love every moment of performing together.
We were so excited to work with Cassy Anderson of Cassy Rose Events once more! Cassy is one of the most talented and accomplished wedding planners we have ever had the pleasure of working with. After the ceremony, Menna and Kyle celebrated with their close family and friends throughout the beautiful Detroit Institute of Arts. We were so privileged to be able to be a part of their special day and have the opportunity to perform in one of our very favorite spaces!
